My first thought as to what to give to each groomsman as presents was to give liquor flasks. I have 7 groomsmen: my three brothers, my new brother-in-law, and three friends from college.

When I told my dear wife-to-be of my plans, she said that a more general beverage holder might work better. Her brother had a drinking issue a few years back. I didn't want her parents or brother to think I was a schmuck or that I was too wild and crazy. So, now I had to pick a present that would work for everyone.

She flipped through her stack of catalogs and magazines for ideas and suggested this mug. She liked that it came from Gunther Gifts as she had received their catalog about a month ago and it had some nice gift ideas in it. She also wanted to go with a wedding vendor she could count on. Since Gunther has been doing personalized gifts for weddings since 1999, she felt very comfortable using them.

I liked the idea of a groomsman mug because the guys in the wedding party that drink beer would really like this and use it all the time. And if you wanted to drink soda or a powerade, you could. This mug works for both guys that drink alcohol and guys that don't. It was also very friendly on my budget. I was hoping to spend about $20 to $30 tops on each groom's man gift because we already went over budget big time on the wedding favors and cake. There really wasn't much money left to thank my crew. Plus, I couldn't get over all the amazingly detailed engraving! A gift is way more special when it is engraved with someone's name. I liked that it really documented the particulars of our wedding - name of person getting mug, their title, names of bride and groom and wedding date. Our wedding was to be immortalized forever in a glass mug. Pretty cool.
